Our Al-Kawthar office in Najaf is a rented property, but our aim is to build our own centre on our own land which was generously donated by his Eminence Grand Ayatollah Sheikh Ishaaq Al-Fayyadh. This is land is 25,000 square metre situated near the Holy City of Najaf, Iraq.
The Al-Kawthar team would like to build a multi-functional recreational centre which will give the widows and orphans a safe environment and will also be used to run Al-Kawthar’s various regular food distributions, celebration of Islamic events, as well as establishing our headquarters for the micro-financing projects and administrative work.
This will facilitate and provide space to the Widows to run their business projects to earn income, whilst their children can be taught in classrooms and have a place for recreation. The centre will include an office, library, nursery, sport facilities, assembly hall, medical section, classrooms for workshops, accommodation for the caretaker/security guard, we also plan on building accommodation for the widows and orphans. Each house will be approximately 100 metres. There will also be outdoor facilities like a football pitch and a garden for children to play creating a safe and secure environment for them.
